Description:
EQUATE Petrochemical Company founded in 1995 is a Joint venture between government-owned Petrochemical Industries Company (PIC), Union Carbide Corporation (The Dow Chemical Company), and Boubyan Petrochemical Company. EQUATE produced in 1997 600,000 MTY Polyethylene, 400,000 MMTY Ethylene Glycol, 400,000 MTY. EQUATE is currently the owner and single-operator of several fully integrated world-class petrochemical complexes in Kuwait, North America and Europe that annually produce over 6 million tons of the highest quality grades of Ethylene, Ethylene Glycol (EG), Polyethylene (PE), Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polypropylene (PP), Styrene Monomer (SM), Paraxylene (PX), Heavy Aromatics (HA) and Benzene (BZ). The products are marketed throughout Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. This project has since been upgraded to an increased capacity of 1.7MMTY.
